AiON-ESS
The AiON-ESS all-in-one integrated system is a flexible, modular AC energy storage solution for 1-hour and 2- to 4-hour applications. Both models incorporate our fourth- generation string inverters, together with Tier-1 energy focused batteries in a single, scaleable enclosure, enabling configurations of any size for almost any application. The fully integrated, containerized system reduces upfront capital outlay and saves on site installation work
The all-in-one system is built from paralleled AC string inverters installed inside an air-cooled section of the container, together with an isolated HVAC-cooled DC battery compartment. DC battery strings are aggregated in small groups to keep the DC bus voltage at lower, safer levels for the end customer. The system can operate from 200 VDC up to 1350 VDC, making it compatible with most current and future energy storage technologie
- Modular Architecture – The enclosure design houses battery racks, power conversion systems, and controls in separate compartments, each with its own protection system for maximum safety and reliability. Thanks to field-replaceable kilowatt-sized string inverters, units can be replaced in minutes.
- Thermal Management – Each system includes superior thermal management, including properly sized HVAC systems and sufficient ducting to handle expected battery and external heat loads, as well as protect from moisture intrusion.
- Designed for Safety – The equipment environment includes features to ensure the safety of technicians, first responders,and other on-site personnel, including warning lights, software lockouts, safe working spaces, and fire suppression systems.
- Fleet Controller – Each system includes an energy management system (EMS) for intelligent control of energy storage and renewable energy assets. It can also easily interface with existing EMS and supports all possible operating modes from basic P/Q adjustments to fully automated energy management control.
- Augmentation – Our all-in-one systems can be simply augmented by adding new enclosures over time. The new enclosures are shipped with batteries, but typically no new string inverters. String inverters are shifted on-site from existing to new enclosures. This reduces augmentation time and maintains project power capacity.

Modular, scalable, bi-directional String Inverter
The AiON-SIS from LS Energy Solutions is a modular, scalable, bi-directional string inverter with advanced functionality suitable for use in almost all energy storage applications. These latest, 4th-generation string inverters from LS Energy Solutions have power ratings of 150kVA, 180kVA, and 200kVA depending on AC output voltage.

AiON-SIS provides customers with a powerful architectural advantage. Up to 16 inverters can be easily paralleled on both the AC and DC sides to build capacities from 150kVA up to 3.2MVA on a single DC bus. This architecture delivers increased efficiency, reliability and availability of the overall system. The AiON-SIS is capable of both grid following and forming, giving users the means to turn their energy storage investment into a microgrid.

BRiC bidirectional string inverters
The PowerBRiC (Bi-directional, Resilient, intelligent Converter) is our third generation bidirectional string inverter for energy storage and the fundamental building block of our integrated storage systems.
With industry-leading power density, the PowerBRiC inverter offers the patented ability to parallel the inverter on both AC and DC sides, making it easy to configure multiple inverters into larger units up to 3MVA. The PowerBRiC can operate from 200 VDC up to 1350 VDC, making it compatible with most current and future energy storage technologies.
Air-cooled, the PowerBRiC can operate in environments up to 55°C/131°F (with derating), making it suitable for most applications. The BRiC also features optional grid-forming capability making it suitable for use in microgrid, backup power, and resiliency applications.
The modular PowerBRiC architecture comes with multiple advantages:
- Enables right-sizing of inverter systems to optimally match power requirements by paralleling multiple, independent 140kVA string inverters
- Enhances safety and reduces cost with reduced short-circuit currents due to dividing the DC bus into multiple manageable DC busses
- Enables energy and power augmentation options - BRiC-based systems can be configured into multiple DC busses, which opens opportunities for flexibility and expansion
- Improves system availability through smaller inverter sizing and through ability to create smaller, independent strings of batteries and inverters on separate DC busses
- Optional grid-forming capability makes the PowerBRiC suitable for multiple applications including microgrid
